Alaina Tobar, DMCP

Regional Vice President, West Region

Alaina Tobar, DMCP, has been with PRA since 2011 and through her career has worn many hats, from proposal writing to sales and launching the Hawaii office. Now, as the Regional Vice President, West, she oversees business operations and the teams in Northern California, Seattle, Las Vegas and Hawaii, as well as our dedicated Facebook team.

Alaina has always had a passion for creating memorable experiences and the industry – the collaboration, the challenges, the people! In her career, she has brought to life hundreds of memorable experiences, but one of her favorites was producing a live polo match on the golf courses of Hawaii with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. As she’s moved away from operations and into leadership, Alaina finds fulfillment in seeing her team succeed. As she says, “ It’s awesome to watch them rise to the occasion and exceed client expectations over and over again. Getting to be their support system and cheerleader is the best!”

Alaina is an engaged leader in the industry, serving as the President of ADMEI (2020-2021 season) and past committee chairs of MPI Northern California. She is also a founding member of PRA’s Equity, Diversity + Inclusion Council. Alaina was named the MPI Northern California Committee Chair of the Year 2015-2016 and PRA’s Carol Norfleet Award recipient in 2019. She has also been named to the 2020 Special Events “25 Young Event Pros to Watch” list.

The native Californian is a graduate of UC San Diego but a world traveler at heart. Her favorite place is her husband’s family ranch in Colombia, which is also where they found and fell in love with their lab and golden retriever mix, Woodson. When not leading PRA into the future, you’ll find Alaina making a family meal (the more the merrier!) or finding the best eats in her local community.

Rainell Sato

General Manager

Rainell is a hospitality and events veteran in the Hawaii marketplace, bringing 19+ years of experience to PRA.

Most recently, Rainell worked as Four Seasons' Director of Special Events. Previous to that, her career spanned catering, wedding, conferences, and event services. Having held positions at world-class luxury brands, we are thrilled to have the high-end experience Rainell brings to the Hawaii team.

Outside of work, Rainell enjoys hiking, fishing, and spending time with her family (grandbaby #2 is on the way!). A native Hawaiian, she's deeply rooted to the islands and excited to share its incomparable beauty with our clients.

Brie Shimada

Regional Sales Manager

Brie Shimada has always had a passion for creating unforgettable experiences within Hawaii’s hospitality industry. The Californian native is a graduate of San Francisco University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. She brings over five years of sales, account management, and operations experience. From first starting as an event planning intern at the PRA Northern California office, she quickly advanced to a Senior Experience Designer role at the PRA Hawaii office. Brie has worked at other local DMC’s where she evolved into sales. Full circle, she has returned to PRA Hawaii as the Regional Sales Manager. She consistently strives to exceed client expectations while building strong customer and partner relationships.
